With over 13 years of experience, we provide you personalized care that brings your hormones back to the natural levels they need to be at. Let Anti-Aging North West remove the suffering of menopause and get you back to a happy and comfortable lifestyle so you can enjoy your life and your family.
Female Hormone Therapy
At your initial appointment, Dr. Faler will conduct an extensive review of your health history, relevant health assessment and a treatment plan. Other lab work may be requested depending upon your specific presentation and concerns.
What are Bioidentical Hormones?
Bioidentical Hormones are chemically and functionally identical to human hormones and are derived from plants, such as yam or soy. The body has the necessary enzymes to break down and metabolize these hormones. Bio-Identical Hormones are designed to produce the same responses in the body as hormones made by the human body. Restoring and balancing hormones with Bio-Identical Hormones is an individualized approach to hormone replacement. Bio-Identical Hormones are custom made for each patient at special pharmacies and are available only by physician prescription.
Who Needs BHRT?
Hormone Therapy isn't just about menopause anymore. While BHRT can help many conditions related to hormone imbalances, it is able to greatly benefit women by improving the conditions of perimenopause, menopause, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), PMS, and irregular periods.
Individually Designed Programs For:
Perimenopause is the period of transition during which the body undergoes hormonal changes, resulting from declining ovarian hormone production. Perimenopause can last from 4-6 years and usually ends after twelve months of amenorrhea. Symptoms of perimenopause can include irregular menstrual periods, painful periods, increased PMS, acne, hot flashes, vaginal dryness, insomnia, and mood swings.
Menopause is a gradual process that happens when a woman’s ovaries make less estrogen and progesterone, and her lifetime supply of eggs becomes depleted, which typically occurs between ages 41-59. A woman is considered to have reached menopause when she hasn’t menstruated for 12 months, and symptoms of menopause include hot flashes, flushes, night sweats, cold flashes, irritability, mood swings, insomnia, low libido, trouble sleeping through the night, anxiety, and depression.
PCOS can be a result of a surplus of androgens, or male hormones in the female body. PCOS is characterized by small, fluid filled sacs forming on the ovaries and causing symptoms of body hair growth, acne, scalp hair loss, no menstrual period, infertility, and depression. Amenorrhea, which is no period, may also result from PCOS causing a fallopian tube obstruction. BHRT may be able to help with some of the symptoms related to PCOS.
PMS can become more extreme with hormone imbalances and may come with increased dysmenorrhea, or painful periods, which can occur due to increased prostaglandins, fibroids, pelvic inflammatory disease, or endometriosis. Enhanced PMS may also cause more mood swings, headaches, cramps, excessive bloating, and breast pain.
Irregular Menstrual Periods Hormone imbalances can cause menstrual periods to come early, late, or not at all. Menstrual irregularities can result in heavier periods, which can happen when excess progesterone makes the uterine lining thicker than usual. Infertility can also occur from the failure to ovulate or produce an egg. Hormone fluctuations may cause periods to be unpredictable, and can cause PMS to be abnormally painful. Over time, fertility may be permanently affected.
Female Hormone Panel
Your hormones will be evaluated with a comprehensive female hormone panel.
Evaluate hirsutism and masculinization in women; evaluate testicular function in clinical states where the testosterone binding proteins may be altered (obesity, cirrhosis, thyroid disorders.)
Estradiol is a form of estrogen, necessary for many processes in the body. Estradiol is a female sex hormone that is involved in the development and maintenance of the female reproductive system.
A precursor for the sex steroids including estrogen and testosterone. Also plays an important role in immune function and stress response.
Laboratory tests help evaluate insulin production, diagnose an insulinoma (insulin-producing pancreatic islet cell tumor), and to help determine the cause of hypoglycemia. Often ordered with other diabetes testing.
Blood levels are used in infertility evaluations to confirm the presence of ovulation and to monitor the effectiveness of medication-induced ovulation. Interpretation of a single progesterone level must take into account the phase of menstrual cycle or the duration of pregnancy.
